Lucy
Robyn Haggie/Kate Lansdale
Robyn Haggie is in her third year at the University of York. She has been
in the National Youth Choir since the age of 16, and was part of the BBC
Proms Youth Choir in 2012. Previous roles have included ‘Maria’ in West
Side Story, soloist for The Royal Northern Sinfonia’s performance of The
Snowman, ‘First Boy’ in Opera Society’s production of The Magic Flute,
and a member of the chorus in Don Giovanni.


Sergei
Fred Stanford
Fred Stanford is a third year undergraduate student. His musical career
began as a chorister at St George's Chapel, Windsor. From there, he
progressed to a school in Surrey where he furthered his musical studies
as both a choral and solo singer. Often having a role behind the scenes
for such a production as Paradise Moscow, playing Sergei will be Fred's
debut performance as a solo singer, and he is very much looking forward
to it.

Boris
Sam Gilliat
Sam Gilliatt grew up in the sunny beaches of Manchester and has just
started his first year at York. He is a first study singer having previously
learnt under Alastair McCall, achieving Grade 8 with Distinction and
performing in musical theatre. Previous appearances include Godspell
(Jesus), Les Misérables (Javert), and, more recently, the premiere of Ollie
Mills' The Tree of War (Greville Harcourt), as well as singing in Hallé
Youth Choir.

Drebyednyetsov
George Clark
George Clark is currently a first year music undergraduate, studying both
as a baritone and as a violinist. Living in Cornwall, he began singing as a
chorister at Truro Cathedral, before playing a major role in Bristol Old
Vic's production of Coram Boy, and performing live on ITV 1's show Born
To Shine. Alongside his A Levels, he was a bass choral scholar at Truro
Cathedral. He has now earned a bass choral scholarship at York Minster
to start next year, and aspires to study vocal studies at a conservatoire
at postgraduate level.

Barabashkin
Ben Noble
Ben Noble had a late start in music, beginning lessons in piano at fifteen
and consequently discovering his talent for singing a year later. In May
2015 he performed his first stage roles in Britten's Little Sweep with the
Miranda Wright Singers. He currently studies with Alex Ashworth and
sings with the Yorkshire Bach Choir.

Lidochka
Emma Wright/Alice Rathbone
Alice Rathbone, Suffolk born and bred, is a second year undergraduate
student at the University of York. Previously, Alice has sung with St.
Edmundsbury and Leeds Cathedral as well as Leeds College of Music, and
has performed in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (Belinda). Outside of the
Music Department, Alice enjoys her role as Webmaster and Press and
Publicity officer for the Gilbert and Sullivan Society, in addition to
performing with them.


Baburov
Ryan Greer
Ryan Greer is a third year music student here at York. He is a co-founder
of extrovert Belfast-based theatre company, Kandu Theatre, and plans to
work with them full-time as a musical director, performer and tea-lady.
He has been lucky enough to perform in a number of leading roles in his
time, appearing in productions such as The Producers (Franz Liebkind),
Oklahoma! (Ali Hakim), and The Thirty Nine Steps (Everybody Else). He
very much hopes you enjoy Paradise Moscow!

Sasha
Chris Murphy
Chris Murphy grew up in Maidenhead, Berkshire and is currently a first
year student studying music. He enjoys singing various styles and
previous performances have included Cabaret (The Emcee), Les
Misérables (Javert) and Sweeney Todd (Pirelli).

Masha
Emily Hodkinson
Emily Hodkinson is a second year undergraduate. She performs with The
24, The Willow Consort, Yorkshire Bach Choir and The Chimera
Ensemble. She previously held a Choral Scholarship at St Barnabas
Cathedral, Nottingham. Previous performances have included Rose Hall's
La Pucelle (Joan the Knight), Handel's Acis and Galatea (Galatea), as well
as oratorio roles in Vaughn Williams' Mass in G Minor, Handel's Messiah,
Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Duruflé's Requiem and Vivaldi's Gloria.

Vava
Sam Gunn
Samantha Gunn is a third year music student. Before coming to York, she
was tutored for a year by operatic tenor, Peter Firmani. Sam's first love is
musical theatre, and she has starred in many musicals including Jesus
Christ Superstar (Annas), and The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), as well as
understudying UK premiere of Leslie Cass's musical, Ruth (Ruth). She is
very excited to take on the role of Vava!
