Thomas Hawkes
Conductor (Act 1)
Thomas Hawkes is currently in his third year. He has only started conducting within the last year, but has already conducted Handel’s Acis and Galatea, and is presently one of the conductors for the University of York Concert Band. He hopes to continue with conducting after he completes his studies next year. Thomas would like to thank the many people involved in this project for all their hard work and dedication this term.

Danny Purtell
Conductor
(Act 2/3)
Danny Purtell is a third year music student, and currently sings as a choral scholar in the Choir of York Minster. His solo work included a live broadcast of Choral Evensong on BBC Radio 3 and the baritone solos in Fauré's Requiem with the City of London Sinfonia conducted by Stephen Layton. Danny has sung in numerous
ensembles, including The 24 and the University Chamber Choir, and he directs his own choir, The Willow Consort. Other conducting
engagements have included the University Opera Society's summer
production of The Magic Flute. Danny is also one of the recipients of theinaugural Stile Antico Foundation Bursary.

Jessica Douglas is a third year music student with a dream of working in the musical theatre world. Past musical direction
credits include Cabaret, We Will Rock You and The Wedding Singer,
along with performances of Princess Ida and Iolanthe at the Harrogate International G&S Festival. Primarily a pianist, she enjoys accompanying and teaching, giving lessons at the university and Norton College, and she also plays the viola in here in the Symphony Orchestra and the Eboracum String Quartet.
Peter Baumann is a third year music student. A chorister at Guildford Cathedral, he grew up surrounded by Choral music, and now sings with The 24. His first conducting engagement was
as Chorus Master for Opera Society's production of Acis and Galatea last year. Predominantly a French Horn player, Peter is a former member of the National Youth Orchestra, and was this year awarded the Edd Burrell Prize for Performance. He is involved with numerous ensembles in York, including The Shambles Wind Quintet.
